The Office of Institutional Advancement at St. Francis DeSales High School is responsible for the coordination of all fund raising, scholarships, external communications, marketing, and alumni relations. The Office of Institutional Advancement has several main functions: to coordinate all fund raising for the school, to build and maintain scholarships with benefactors, to support a vibrant Alumni Relations program, to facilitate all external communication, coordinate all the schools marketing initiatives, and to work with external groups who are interested in supporting St. Francis DeSales High School.

The Advancement Office coordinates all unrestricted and restricted fund raising projects. The Annual Fund, the yearly unrestricted fund drive, provides vital dollars that support the students, academic programs, co-curricular programs and facilities of SFDHS. The Advancement Office also coordinates restricted, capital and planned giving programs. The office also hosts three event fund raisers including the Stallion Golf Outing in the summer, Friends in the Courtyard Wine Tasting and Auction in the fall, and Casino Royale Live and Silent Auction in the spring. The three events support our co-curricular programs including athletics, drama, band, and over 30 scholastic and interest-based clubs. In addition to fund raising campaigns and events, St. Francis DeSales High School has over 30 annual named scholarships funded by benefactors. The Advancement Office is responsible for communications to the benefactors and managing of the dollars in the scholarship account along with the distribution to the scholarship recipients.

The Advancement Office also provides a vibrant Alumni Relations program. This program communicates and coordinates events to over 9,000 alumni along with maintaining an accurate database of our alumni. Additionally, a bi-weekly E-Stampede newsletter is sent to alumni to communicate current news and events to our alumni. A formal Alumni Association along with class agent representatives in every class assist in the communication and planning of alumni events. The Alumni Association also assits in providing an Alumni Scholarship to two deserving students, who is the son or daughter of alumnus/ea. The Advancement Office coordinates and communicates milestone anniversaries and a cluster reunion to allow alumni to gather with classmates annually.

Communication is a vital component in linking to over 10,000 current families and alumni as well as our parents of alumni and supporters. The Advancement Office manages several external communication vehicles: the St. Francis DeSales High School web site, weekly DeTales e-newsletters to current parents, and The Mighty Pen magazine that is mailed in summer and winter to our current families and alumni. The school’s Annual Report is included in The Mighty Pen in the summer. All marketing inciatives to our feeder schools and parishes are implemented through the Advancement office.
