DeSales Fishing Club
With the help of a $1200 grant from the ODNR, members of our club were able to recieve FREE fishing tackle for Christmas including a new spinning pole, tackle box, and about $100 worth of fishing lures each.
If you love to fish, always wanted to learn how to fish, or just want to spend more time enjoying the outdoors with your friends, this club is for you!!! This club is open to any and all DeSales students. We meet twice a month from September through November, and then again in April and May. We discuss topics that include how to properly use various types of fishing equipment and lures, identifying common Ohio fish species, reading lake topography maps, tying various fishing knots, casting competitions and techniques for cleaning fish. We also give away free door prizes at each meeting to our members. We have 5-7 fishing tournaments per year with first and second place trophies awarded at each tournament.
