The Stallions currently have the longest OHSAA Playoff streak in the State of Ohio, having qualified 18 straight years in 21 times overall.
Year in and year out, DeSales competes against one of the most rugged schedules in the State of Ohio which is why the St. Francis DeSales Stallions are truly a state wide POWER. As a football Stallion, you will be treated to one of the finest football experiences in Ohio.

Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity
Making the team
No players are cut from football. Off-season weight training for current players/students begins after Christmas break and is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 a.m. Conditioning sessions begin in June after school ends and take place from 8-10 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Football camp is held in mid-July.
Practice
Practice officially begins the first week of August. Once school starts the practice schedule is 3:30- 6:30 p.m. daily for JV and Varsity and 3:30-6 p.m. daily for freshmen
Freshman Information
Incoming freshmen will receive information regarding summer and pre-season activities for football upon acceptance to Saint Francis DeSales HS. Instructional lifting for incoming freshmen begins in Early March

- 20 Lineman have made First Team All-Ohio since 1994.
- St. Francis DeSales has had a player named “Player of the Year” six times since 1994.
- DeSales has had 11 All-Ohio players in the past six seasons.
- Four different times, a DeSales Head Football Coach has been named Coach of the Year.
