Academics: Construction Technology

Students are introduced to the construction field in an introductory course and can continue to build upon their knowledge and skills in Construction Technology.

Intro to CADD (Computer Aided Drafting & Design)

Course introduces students to the fundamentals of mechanical drafting and computer aided design (CADD).

Industrial Design I

This course uses CADD to create 3-dimensional objects. A portfolio will document the student's journey through the design process.

Industrial Design II

This course works to design new innovative products. The student's focus will be on prototype conceptualization, sensory awareness, an understanding of the user's needs, and marketing.

Construction Technology-Architecture

This course will teach students how to create an architecturally correct floor plan and design interior spaces. Students will use CADD to design projects.

Construction Technology-Technical Illustrations

This is a year-long advanced drafting course that is designed to give students basic pre-engineering skills. Each student will use CADD to produce a visual image of their models.

Construction Technology II

This course concentrates on commercial architecture and engineering design. Subject matter will cover restaurant design, the bridge compeition, and engineering projects.
